Market Demand Remains Weak, Spot Premiums/Discounts Decline [SMM North China Spot Copper]

SMM, January 8: Today, spot copper in North China was quoted at a discount of 180-60 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 120 yuan/mt, down 50 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Transaction prices ranged from 74,230 to 74,420 yuan/mt, with an average price of 74,325 yuan/mt, up 145 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. During the week, the center of copper prices moved higher, coupled with seasonally weak consumption.
